It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas... What?

Greetings all! Happy October! Well , today's title is 'it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and it is. In today's post anyway. I'll get to more of that in a minute. If you've read my blog yesterday, then you know that my guys have been sick. Well my hubby Jack had to call in sick yesterday and couldn't get in to the doctor as they were booked. So he is going today and will be off of work through Saturday. Our son is sick as well ,but not as bad as dad. I think he will be feeling better today, fingers crossed! I made this homemade chicken noodle soup for them. I usually make the noodles from scratch too ,but they take a little time and I just couldn't conjour them up yesterday.I added chicken, stock, carrots, celery, fresh garlic, and a few chicken friendly herbs. They liked it and I thought it was tasty too.

Okay, so now on to more about the Christmas part of this post. All of you quilters and stitchers out there in blogland know that you have to get a jump on these things if you expect them to reside in your homes for the season. I stared this quilt top last year and need to add borders and layer it for quilting so we can actually use it this year. The fabrics are Birchwood Lane by Holly Taylor for Moda. Now since I wasn't thinking ahead last year, I didn't purchase the fabric for the borders. One thing I like about the Holly Taylor lines is that a lot of them can mix and match so I should be able to find something that works nicely. The fabric is flannel so it will be nice and cozy .

I discovered a stowaway after I had taken this picture. Can you find him? We have had spiders something fierce lately. Don't know where this one ran off to.

Hopefully you can see a little more detail in the print on the fabrics of this block.

This is another unfinished project from last year. It is one of Lizzie Kate's snippet santas. I can't remember the year.I am going to make it into a pillow. I first thought of making it into a Christmas purse and then thought it would get too dirty out and about. I have made a couple of buttons for it like the ones that the model uses on the chart.I have just the perfect fabric around here for it somewhere.

Well mom's surgery was put off last week because of her medication she was on ,so tomorrow is the big day for her.Everything should go fine. She's a little nervous but can't wait for it to be over.
Hopefully I will have the announcement tomorrow of the giveaway. If not, Saturday for sure! That's it today folk! Have a great rest of the day!
'Til next time, happy stitching!
