A Blooming finish

Greetings dear blogging buddies!~ Wow, I know it's been a full week since I last posted. Been having some personal issues that I am trying to work through and life gets crazy sometimes when you're trying to do that. I wanted to at least hop on here this morning to show my "Where My Heart Blooms" finish. It will be a while before I can get it framed but I am so so happy that I was able to stitch it. Thanks again , Catherine, for your generous loan!!!

I would have preferred to have stitched this on linen, but I didn't want to wait until my next trip to the needlework shop , which is about 40 miles away. I decided to stitch it on evenweave so I could start on it as soon as the pattern arrived. I dyed the thread for the house, with the exception of the bright white, for the same reason. All in all, I am pleased as punch with it!

Other than the stitcing on this piece, I have worked on and finished a gift, and have been planning my next exchange pieces, I signed up for 4 more!! Plus I also started a bell-pull. I'm not real crazy for bell -pulls but have wanted to do the one I'm working on ever since I first layed eyes on it. Photos of that to come later this week. * crossing fingers* I also need to get some more stitces in on that giveaway piece before you all think I've abandoned that idea. : )

That will do for this short little post edition . Thank you all for your continued visits. Come back real soon.
'till next time,
don't be a stranger,
Sharlotte

  2. Hi Judy, thanks for stopping by today. I took a portion of the pattern "It's Berry Time" from BBD. I used the called for overdyed floss , which is Wild Berries from Crescent Colours. Did you notice the little strawberry emery that is alos in the header picture? That is the bonus pattern on that same Berry Time pattern. I love it! Thank's again for stopping by and commenting. I hope to see you back here real soon! Have a great day!

  3. Sharlotte,

Congratulations on your beautiful finish! You are such a fast stitcher! I have been busy with baseball and gardens recently, but finally put needle back to thread for a bit last evening before my eyes got too tired.

Love your new header! Your finishes are beautiful. Can't wait to see pics of what's next.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers concerning the things you have been dealing with.

  12. Hi Sharlotte! Your BBD sampler turned out beautiful and I love the way the variegated threads turned out on the heart. You stitched this one up rather quick, it must have been hard to put down. Smiles....

  15. This is great! My favorite part is the "white" of the house--I was so surprised to read that you dyed it yourself. :o

I not only like the overdye but the way it falls. Did you do anything special, or just "go for it"? with the fiber you dyed?

I think it looks good on evenweave--I've got a real soft spot for 28 ct. evenweave. ;)
