Another Little House Design

Hello dear blogging buddies!~ First things first. I need to make a correction about the flowers I took a picture of in my mom's yard. I found out yesterday that daffodils and jonquils are the same flower with an exception. Jonquils grow in thicker bunches and have more rounded tips, therefore the flowers that are in my mom's yard are daffodils. It's nice to have a botanist as a next door neighbor! :) My mom always called them jonquils , therefore I did too. I don't think I'll be correcting my mom though, I know you all know where I'm going with that . :)

I've started a new project. You all know I'm famous for that! It's a Little House Needleworks design called " Star light, star bright". I am stitching it on yet another mystery count and type of linen which is kind of a smokey blue with DMC floss. I thought at first that I would make it into a pinkeep . However , I was afraid that it would finish out a little big for that so after reading Karen's blog yesterday , http://karenshandiwork.blogspot.com/ , I think I will borrow her idea and maybe finish this into a cube. That will be the first time that I do a cube finish so I'm a little anxious about it , but it looks simple enough.

I'm thinking about stitching up another motif from Quakers and Quilts and maybe making it into a biscornu. I have a little curio wall cabinet that Jack got me several years back for Mother's Day . Besides receiving the gift of becoming a mom on Mother's Day , I think it's my next best Mother's Day gift. I am getting pretty tired of looking at the Precious Moments figures that are in there. I guess it's because they are all the same color so I am getting a little bored with them. I'll put them away for a little while and will fill it with smalls finishes for a while. I have stitched since I was 13 or 14, and believe it or not, I had always finished my stitching as framed pieces until a couple of years ago. So I don't have a lot of smalls done yet. I will probably have that cabinet filled in no time though, with everything I've been wanting to stitch. Right now I have only a couple of exchange pieces that I have received in there so I have some planning to do! :)

Well the boy child , as Terri affectionately calls him, will be home earlier than expected. :) I need to get together around here so I can get to the grocery store and get that out of the way. Gotta fill the pantry and the fridge so he can empty them out you know! LOL!
You all take care and have a super super weekend and I will see you all again on Monday!
'till next time,
Happy stitching!
