Greetings dear friends and blogging buddies!~ Yes, you read right! I'm still alive! I have been pretty busy and also have not had use of the camera, (kept forgetting to buy new batteries) so I have been out for a bit. I am really making a nasty habbit of this am I not? I must stop that!!
*******
Well, as I said, I have been busy. I have had a naked sheep since Christmas and thought I better do something about that! So I have made a new blanket for my little sheep. I used some blue and red striped flannel I had and then stitched the flag portion of a Bent Creek pattern and there you go, my sheep is no longer naked!
Well that put me in a rather patriotic mood and that resulted in me buying myself a birthday present. I ordered the Wishing Thee Freedom chart from Homespun Elegance and got it stitched up. I stitched it on a smaller piece of linen because I plan on making it into a pillow so it wasn't necessary to have a regular sized border for framing. I need to get the brass buttons ordered and then the fabric purchased. When I have that completed I will show you the finished product.
I stitched on Quaker Alphabet Sampler as far as the thread would go and need to get some more ordered so I can get it finished. This is where I left off.
I also got all the little cowboys rounded up, er I mean, I got the Li'l Cowpokes quilt all done and ready to give to the baby I made it for when the time comes. Which is just around the corner. I hand quilted it in a large cross hatch and then for the border, I just did straight lines out. I love how it came out!
Guess that does it for me! Wonder if I will be back on Monday. Hmm... if you are wondering too, then maybe you should stop by and see. :)
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a warm one! Thanks for stopping by and gving me some of your time!
'til next time,
don't be a stranger,
Sharlotte
Lovely stitching :-) Your sheep looks very nice indeed.
ReplyDeleteYour sheep looks much warmer! Maybe a bikini for summer? All of your finishes are great.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you!! Your sheep is adorable and I am sure he's glad not having all of his parts exposed anymore!
ReplyDeleteLove all of your stitches and that quilt turned out adorable!
What could you possibly be doing this weekend that would make you wonder if you'll be back on Monday? Hhhhmmm...
Wow! Look at you-- Miss Flying Needles. All your work is lovely but I am especially coveting the Wishing sheep.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all the great stitching.
Everything looks cute as a button :)
ReplyDeleteLove that Patriotic sewing and stitching! Those little cowboys are singing "Yippee Kye Yay...move along little doggies" :)
CUTE! You've been busy!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your sheep and the finish! Wow, so many wonderful ones. And I adore that little boys quilt. Just fabulous! And sure to be a favorite.
ReplyDeleteWow! All your progress and finishes look great! No wonder you've not been around the blog, you've been busy with the needle!!! I especially love the quilt!!! That is sooooo cute!!!
ReplyDeleteThe sheep and her new coat are both such fun! I like your style, lol. And the Cow Poke quilt is just too cute and is sure to be a hit with it's new family. Love the non-traditional quilts for babies! The stitcheries are going to make nice pillows for your home, too. You sure have been busy while the camera was waiting out the new batteries. My camera seems to eat batteries. No idea why it started doing that.
ReplyDeleteAwww your sheep is adorable naked or not..lol!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitches and that quilt is so sweet.
So happy to see a well dressed sheep.
ReplyDeleteLove your little cowpoke quilt. What a wonderful gift.
The sheep looks so cute - love how you so cleverly used the flag design. And I love the Quaker alphabet sampler - do you mind my asking who the designer is? Love the thread too - will be a great finish.
